Program Dates:
September 2, 2026 - June 30, 2027 Schedule The instructor will teach two intermediate-level ESL classes for a total of 12 hours per week.
Classes will meet either:
Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., or Thursday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Schedule may be adjusted based on instructor availability. About the Position YWCA of Queens is seeking a dynamic and dedicated ESL Instructor to teach intermediate-level adult English language learners. Students have basic communicative skills and are working to improve fluency, grammatical accuracy, vocabulary, and confidence in real-world communication. The instructor will support adult immigrants and other English language learners through engaging, student-centered lessons that develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred TESOL degree or certification preferred Experience teaching adult

learners Strong lesson planning and assessment skills Ability to motivate and engage adult learners Strong classroom management and communication skills Experience documenting student progress and using assessment data Culturally responsive and student-centered approach Responsibilities Develop engaging lessons in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Create and adapt curriculum based on student needs Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and projects Maintain attendance and support student retention Participate in staff meetings and professional development Collaborate with program staff to support student success Implement effective classroom management strategies Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting immigrant communities and adult learners. Candidates should be culturally sensitive, flexible, creative, and committed to empowering students through English language education.
