Job Description

We are NYC Global Center. NYC Global Center serves a diverse, foreign-born population for whom English is a second language. This institution strives to realize two primary goals: Improve students' ability to comprehend the English language; and Provide students with both the vocabulary and grammatical structures necessary to become fluent in English.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to students of various ages and proficiency levels, ranging from beginning to advanced
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the specific needs and abilities of the students.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support their language development.
  • Assist with other program-related duties including placement testing, orientation, and curriculum.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or credential in ESL, TESOL, or TEFL.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills to plan lessons, track student progress, and maintain accurate records.
