Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $22 - $24 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Teaching experience with English language learners (ELLs) ESL instruction experience Driver's License Full Job Description Basic Function Responsible for carrying out the day-to-day work of ESOL/Job Skills instruction with ETSS clients. Provides daily instruction that is grounded in Employability and Life Skills to a classroom audience of multilevel/multiethnic learners. This is a morning part time, in person teaching position. starting at 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities Use various teaching techniques to provide instruction in ESOL with a focus on helping New Americans learn how to navigate life in the United States. Provide instruction in job seeking skills and assist with preparing clients for the workplace. Prepare daily lessons and activities for multiple levels in a classroom and students from many different countries. Daily attendance tracking and case notes of participants attending ESOL class and job skills training. Assist with conducting an annual needs assessment to ensure that the program is addressing the workplace and ESOL instructional and social service needs of the target communities. Outreach and promotion of ESOL class and other ETSS programs and activities. Help provide other educational activities as necessary. Such as financial education or computer literacy classes. Perform other duties as required by Supervisor. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and program special events. Skills Oral communication skills Professionalism Interpersonal Written communication skills Time management Problem solving Computer literate Bilingual is a plus Education Bachelor's Degree and/or TESOL Certification or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Previous experience working in multi-level ESOL classroom instruction. Understanding of and willingness to demonstrate communication, time management, problem solving and workplace issue competency. Familiarity with social service programs, working with the refugee and immigrant community in educational, employment, and language programming. Collaboration with community partners. Other Requirements Possession of a valid Ohio driver's license, reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance.
