Job Description

Position Summary The Millville Area School District is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Secondary Spanish Teacher to provide engaging instruction in Spanish language and culture for students in grades 7-12. The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment that promotes language acquisition, cultural awareness, communication skills, and student engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective Spanish language instruction aligned to Pennsylvania Academic Standards. Teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish. Integrate cultural awareness and global perspectives into instruction. Develop lesson plans that engage students with varied learning styles and abilities. Use instructional strategies that promote active participation and language immersion. Assessment and Student Growth Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative measures. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families. Maintain accurate grades, records, and progress monitoring data. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learner needs. Classroom Environment Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment. Promote student engagement, collaboration, and accountability. Manage classroom behavior in accordance with district policies. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to support student success. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress. Participate in department meetings, professional development, and district initiatives. Professional Responsibilities Maintain current knowledge of instructional best practices in world language education. Participate in curriculum review and program development. Fulfill all duties and responsibilities associated with professional staff positions. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Spanish, Education, or related field required. Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Spanish required. Strong knowledge of Spanish language instruction and cultural content. Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching secondary students. Ability to teach multiple levels of Spanish. Experience integrating technology into instruction. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and student-centered learning strategies.

$58,282.00 - $82,282.00 per year
