We bring world languages to life through immersive, play-based learning—and we're looking for an experienced Spanish Lead Teacher to join our team. About the Role The Spanish Lead Teacher plays a key role in delivering high-quality language instruction and supporting the overall success of Sponge's Spanish programs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about teaching young children, fluent in Spanish, and confident guiding and supporting other teachers. This is a part-time position that includes teaching, curriculum support, teacher mentorship, and coordination of classroom quality. The role includes opportunities to teach 5-10 hours per week, with additional leadership responsibilities supported through a monthly stipend. Key Responsibilities Teach interactive, immersive Spanish classes using Sponge's curriculum, games, songs, and stories Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to new and existing Spanish teachers Support teacher observations and provide feedback for continuous quality improvement Assist with teacher onboarding, training sessions, and ongoing professional development Ensure lessons are delivered primarily in Spanish with high levels of student engagement Support curriculum development and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of instructional materials Communicate effectively with families, school partners, and Sponge staff Collaborate with leadership on scheduling, classroom quality, and program improvements Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students Required Qualifications Fluency in Spanish Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching teachers Experience teaching Spanish to children ages 0-10 years old Availability between 12pm and 5pm Monday to Friday Ability to travel to schools and program locations throughout the Greater Seattle area Strong classroom management skills and ability to lead engaging, play-based lessons Passion for early childhood and elementary language education Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working at a language school, immersion program, or bilingual education setting Experience serving as a Lead Teacher, Teacher Mentor, or Academic Coordinator Background in education, linguistics, childhood development, or a related field Strong cultural competency and ability to incorporate Hispanic cultures into lessons and activities Why Join Sponge?
