Job Description

Hampton University's Department of Literatures, Languages, and Film is seeking adjunct instructors for SPA 101: Elementary Spanish
I & SPA 102
Elementary Spanish II courses for Fall 2026. Elementary Spanish I & II make up the department's two-semester introductory Spanish course sequence. Per the Academic Catalog, SPA 101 and SPA 102 are each an: Introductory course designed to develop the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Oral proficiency and communication competence stressed. (SPA 101 is a pre-requisite for SPA 102.) The Fall 2026 semester runs from Wednesday, August 26 (first day of class) through Tuesday, December 15 (last set of grades due). Requirements Qualified candidates should have a graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in Spanish, or related field from an accredited university. Experience in and evidence of successful teaching in a university setting is preferred. Candidates without a Master's degree in Spanish or a related field can possess a master's degree in any field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Spanish or the related field.
