SGS offers an engaging academic program and a diverse array of enrichment opportunities. Students enter the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program in grades 11-12. Small class sizes, led by caring and dedicated faculty who value collaboration and professional growth, allow students to thrive. Position Overview We are seeking an Upper School Spanish Teacher to join the SGS community for the 2026-27 school year beginning July 1, 2026. The classes to be taught may include Spanish 2-4 and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (DP) classes. Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in their discipline, love working with adolescents and their parents, have a strong understanding of pedagogy, respect for and a commitment to teaching diverse populations, a desire to collaborate closely with colleagues, and an interest in encouraging cross-curricular connections. Teachers at Saint George's model lifelong learning. Essential Responsibilities
  • Teach students in grades 8-12
  • Prepare and facilitate multiple levels of Spanish language courses
  • Collaborate with other teachers in the department to create a strong K-12 language program
  • Develop mentoring relationships with students
  • Provide a class experience that matches the school culture of developing each student's talents
  • Provide feedback to students and families in a timely manner
  • Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings
  • Other related duties as assigned The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Create unique curricula, learning standards, and goals within each class

  • Commit to a learner centered pedagogy and a constructivist classroom
  • Facilitate students' independent critical thinking skills
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, parents, Administration, and members of the SGS community
  • Be flexible, creative, and enthusiastic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid Washington state teaching certificate (or certification from another state)
  • Strong Spanish language proficiency
  • International Baccalaureate teaching experience (preferred) Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
