Position Summary:
Arkansas State University - Mountain Home is seeking a dynamic student-driven full-time Instructor of Biological Sciences. This position is responsible for regular instructional responsibilities within biology including anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and applicable labs. The instructor will engage students through classroom, online, and hybrid modalities, and contribute to curriculum development, student advising, institutional service, and other duties associated with full-time faculty.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach a full load of courses in Biological Sciences. The course load is 15 credit hours per semester and 30 credit hours for the 9-month contract. Develop and update course syllabi, course content, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with program and institutional learning outcomes. Advise and mentor students within the degree programs of the School of Business, Arts, and Sciences Participate in college and departmental meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to accreditation and assessment processes. Maintain office hours to support student advising and mentoring. Participate in college service, including committees, student recruitment, and professional development. Attend graduation ceremonies and other events and activities as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Preferred Qualifications:
College-level teaching experience, especially in a community college setting. Experience with online instruction and course development.
General Days/Hours:
Monday-Thursday 7:30am - 5:00pm & Friday 7:30am - 2:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Biology or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate hours in Biology. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to use learning management systems (e.g., Canvas). Commitment to teaching excellence, student success, and professional development.
