Department of Microbiology and Immunology Location Hanover/Lebanon, New Hampshire Open Date Jun 22, 2026 Description The Department of Microbiology and Immunology (M/I) and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seek applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join our collegial and collaborative department and scientific community. Exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor rank may be considered. The ideal candidate will employ innovative, cutting-edge approaches to explore fundamental questions at the intersection of host-viral/microbe interactions, the immune system, and human health and disease. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research program bridges multiple areas within Microbiology and Immunology and complements the department's strengths. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and establish a robust, extramurally funded research program, provide research training and mentorship for graduate and undergraduate students, participate in the Dartmouth scientific community, and contribute to teaching in classroom settings. A generous start-up package as well as access to state-of-the-art research facilities will be provided. M/I faculty members are members of the Molecular and Cellular Biology graduate program, and may apply to be part of other Dartmouth graduate programs including in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences (QBS), Ecology, Evolution, Environment and Society (EEES) or Integrative Neuroscience (IND).
