Midland, TX Job Details Part-time $35 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Laboratory instruments Bachelor's degree Productivity software Full Job Description Job Summary The adjunct instructor will teach a combination of Biology lecture and/or lab courses, develop instructional and assessment materials, and support student learning through effective classroom and laboratory instruction. Essential Functions Communicate course objectives, learning outcomes, expectations, and policies to students through the course syllabus and other instructional materials. Provide effective instruction in assigned biology courses and support student success through appropriate teaching and assessment. Collaborate with the Biology Chair on curriculum, assessment, scheduling, student concerns, and other departmental initiatives to support student success and program effectiveness. Ensure safety requirements are followed in the classroom and laboratory. Respond to student questions and concerns during class, office hours, and through timely electronic communication Use the Learning Management System (LMS) appropriately to support instruction, student learning, and course communication. Maintain academic records in accordance with college policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable laws. Stay current with developments, trends, and best practices in the field of biology. Participate in student learning outcomes assessment and program evaluation activities as required by the department and the College. Recommend textbooks and instructional materials that support biology courses. Physical Demands Ability to lift or move lab equipment weighing up to 25 pounds Use of manual dexterity Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Classroom, lab and office setting Required Qualifications Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology or related biological field for lecture Bachelor's degree in Biology, or related biological field for lab General classroom instruction and experience working with lab equipment Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications College teaching experience Lab experience Application Requirement Please upload unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities attended in the Resume/CV upload section of the application (the Resume/CV section allows multiple document uploads).
