Job Description:
The Department of Biology at Norwich University is looking to hire an in-person adjunct instructor to teach Introduction to
Biology I:
Molecules, Cells, and Body Systems and Concepts in Biology (non-majors) laboratory and/or lecture sections during the fall of 2026. Our current needs are to cover 1-2 lecture sections and 2-3 lab sections. The successful applicant will join a General Biology teaching team and use an established curriculum for both the laboratory and the lecture. We are open to hiring multiple part-time people to meet these needs. Full-time, non-tenure track employment, with the potential to continue into the spring semester, would also be considered based on qualifications and experience. Spring course load could include Introduction to
Biology II:
Ecology and Evolution, Cell Biology, and Concepts in Biology (non-majors). Timely assignment grading and the holding of office hours for student consultations are also expected.
Requirements:
MS or higher in biology, neuroscience, or related field; a strong commitment to the education of undergraduates in the arts, sciences, and engineering (prior teaching experience at the college level is preferred). Part-time work is compensated on a per-course (workload-hour) rate, whereas full-time work is salaried.
