The College of Business and Public Administration (BPA) offers a variety of degrees which prepares tomorrow's business and community leaders. Department Information :

The Department of Accounting and Finance is home to two academic programs: Accounting and Finance. The Accounting program prepares students for careers in public, corporate, governmental, and nonprofit accounting while providing a strong foundation for professional certifications such as the CPA, CMA, and CIA. The Finance program prepares students for careers in financial analysis, financial planning, investment banking, portfolio management, corporate finance, and related fields. It also helps students prepare for professional credentials such as the CFA, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, and APA.

Position Description:

The Department of Accounting and Finance at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time accounting lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a closely related field with an accounting concentration, along with a professional accounting credential (e.g., CPA, CMA, or CIA); or Graduate degree in a business-related field with substantial industry experience in accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience. Prior university-level teaching experience.

Rank and Salary:

Lecturer. Anticipated salary range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. Full-time equivalent salary ranges are as follows (amounts prorated for part-time assignments):
