A Business Professor teaches foundational business ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the business curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.
HCC faculty are expected to contribute to the college community through committee work, on-going professional development, and collaborative curriculum development. A passion for teaching and commitment to student success are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields.
Qualifying Degree Fields :
Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated instructional experience at the post-secondary level. Two to five years of professional experience in a business-related company, industry, or organization. Professional or community affiliations in business/economics related associations. Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system and A commitment to students through exceptional teaching and learning.

Faculty members will be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the contract with the faculty union Grade 2: Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in field $51,934.60 Grade 2+: Master's Degree with 60 graduate semester hours in the field $54,594.23 Grade 1: PhD in major field $57,255.05 Up to four salary steps may be applied to the starting salary based on experience.
