Part-time Job Description Summary The budgeted salary for this position is typically $1,000 per credit hour . This position is ineligible for health, dental, and life insurance benefits through Chicago State University. Chicago State University (CSU), is the oldest public university in the Chicago metropolitan area. https://www.csu.edu/president/annual_report.htm . The Adjunct Lecturer facilitates meaningful learning of the course competencies in the area of Business. S/He provides education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. S/He encourages a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, ethics, as well as personal and professional development. This position is part-time/adjunct only.- Designs and delivers class instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies and the development of activities which support lesson objectives.
- Enables the achievement of pre-described exit competencies for student achievement and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation.
- Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
- Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule.
- Manages the learning environment through accurate keeping, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing University policies.
- Relates professional life and industry experience to learning by the introduction of industry perspective and trends into courses. Required Education
- MBA or a Master's degree in a business-related field; in particular: Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing or Management Information Systems. A PhD or DBA is preferred.
- Membership in a professional association tied to area of instruction preferred Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations, and report writing skills.
- Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills.
- Computer-based skills (i.
