Position Summary:
The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus. The School of Economics, Management, and Project Management, one of three schools in the College of Business, invites applications for a 9-month fixed term Instructor position in Operations and Supply Chain Management beginning in August of 2026. The successful candidate will bring areas of teaching that complement and integrate with those of existing faculty. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the Colleges mission of providing students with the skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary business. Responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester in face-to-face and/or online formats, along with advising and service activities as assigned by the School Director. The position may also involve engagement in scholarly or professional activities consistent with a teaching-focused appointment. While teaching schedules are typically concentrated within two or three days per week, this position is primarily campus-based, with expectations for engagement in teaching, advising, and service activities. The successful candidate is expected to engage in scholarly and/or professional activities appropriate for a teaching-focused appointment to maintain currency in the field and support AACSB faculty qualification standards. Candidates should demonstrate a strong record or clear potential to contribute to the intellectual and practical development of students and to engage with stakeholders of the School, College, University, and broader business community. The successful candidate must meet the Colleges faculty qualification standards in alignment with AACSB guidelines. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a masters degree or be ABD in Management or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Operations and/or Supply Chain Management from an AACSB-accredited institution.Preferred Qualifications:
A PhD or ABD in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is preferred. ABD applicants with a scheduled dissertation defense and completion of all degree requirements on or before August 1, 2026, will be given strong consideration. Prior college-level teaching experience, particularly in undergraduate management courses, is desirable.Position Type:
