Instruct students at the elementary level in assigned, certified area.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide instruction in areas of certification and assignment using district approved curriculum and model. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicate those objectives to students. Prepare, administer and assess student performance to evaluate progress. Prepare and plan for classroom instruction. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies and administrative procedures. Enforce all district policies and administrative procedures. Refer students with academic or social challenges to district resource persons. Provide a safe environment including instructions, as appropriate, in order to prevent injuries and damage. Prepare for assigned classes based on state standards and show written evidence of preparation upon request of supervisor(s). Supervise students as assigned. Integrate technology and other materials to supplement instruction. Communicate with parents and community to keep them informed about classroom events. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to address individual student needs and progress. Prepare and implement remedial interventions for students requiring extra help. Collaborate with other staff members in professional learning communities to plan for instruction. Comply with all aspects of student IEPs and 504 Plans. Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration. Review, evaluate and incorporate student data into classroom instruction. Maintain classroom inventory, including equipment and supplies. Administer required standardized assessments as directed. Utilize district implemented system for technology, maintenance and supply requests. Serve as a positive role model for students in all aspects of performance, demonstrating pride in the honorable profession of public education.MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in meetings, workshops and conferences as required. Support public education and student achievement. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising principal(s).QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess appropriate PA teaching certification in area(s) of assignment. Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code) Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code) Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994 Submission of Federal Criminal History Record in accordance with Act 114 of 2006 PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to reach above and below the waist Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects Ability to perform repetitive motion Some stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting of the body Ability to lift/carry supplies weighing no more than 30 lbs Ability to sit and stand for extended periods throughout the work environmentSENSORY ABILITIES
