Job Description

Hartford High School (VT) is seeking a passionate, dedicated High School Math and/or Business Teacher to join our educational community for the 2026-2027 school year.
About Hartford High School:
Hartford High School is a public high school of approximately 500 students dedicated to the development of the whole child. We are an inclusive, energetic, and creative community that is dedicated to academic and personal growth. Successful candidates for this position must be committed to, and enthusiastic about, empowering high school learners to play an active role in their education and their school. We believe that students learn best when their physical, emotional, and social needs are met; multiple instructional environments are needed to address a diverse population of learners; and individual growth results from high expectations and continuous self improvement.

The successful applicant will: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Secondary Education, Business or a related field. Hold a valid Vermont Teaching license (7-12). Have teaching experience in 3D Modeling, Engineering, Financial Literacy, and/or Sports Management Candidates who are a good fit for this position will be: Enthusiastic and student-centered; Serve as an Advisor to an assigned cohort of students, cultivating trusting, respectful, and inclusive relationships that serve as the foundational support for student accountability, personal growth, and proactive family partnerships; Able to partner with parents, guardians, and administration by maintaining accurate academic records and regularly communicating student progress; Knowledgeable in adapting and implementing engaging lesson plans in alignment with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Math; Able to utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs to include one-to-one and small group intervention; Skilled in fostering a respectful, positive, and inclusive learning environment that responds to students' academic, social, and emotional needs; Committed to working closely with department colleagues, special educators, and support staff to ensure student success.
