Special Service Contract ($2,500.00 per season) Summary Coconino High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Danceline Coach. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in dance and a desire to mentor and inspire high school students. The Assistant Danceline Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement training programs, assist with choreography, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment. Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing practice sessions, including warm-ups, technique training, and choreography.
  • Help organize and lead team meetings, ensuring clear communication of goals, schedules, and expectations.
  • Provide individual and group instruction to team members, focusing on skill development, performance techniques, and team dynamics.
  • Support the Head Coach in preparing for performances, competitions, and showcases, including logistics and choreography.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among team members.
  • Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for new team members, including outreach and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with school administration, parents, and community members to promote the Danceline program and its events.
  • Attend all practices, performances, and team meetings, contributing to a consistent and supportive coaching presence. Requirements
  • Previous experience in dance, preferably at the competitive level, with a focus on team-based performance.
  • Strong knowledge of various dance styles and techniques, including jazz, pom, and contemporary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with high school students and foster a supportive environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and other staff members to achieve team goals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for practices, performances, and competitions.
  • A passion for dance and a commitment to the development and success of student dancers.
High school diploma or equivalent certification required. All employees are subject to a criminal background check.
