Seasonal Stipend Position Position Summary Naco Elementary School District is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered individual to serve as the Middle School Head Soccer Coach. The head coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all aspects of the middle school soccer program. The coach will develop student-athletes' technical skills, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and character while promoting academic success and providing a safe, positive learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, games, and related activities. Teach the fundamental skills, rules, and strategies of soccer. Develop practice plans that emphasize technical development, teamwork, conditioning, sportsmanship, and player growth. Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities. Coordinate game schedules, transportation needs, and communication with the Athletic Director. Maintain and inventory team equipment, uniforms, and supplies. Ensure compliance with district policies, conference rules, and Arizona interscholastic athletic regulations. Monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and encourage academic success. Foster positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, officials, and the community. Promote a safe environment by following appropriate health and safety procedures. Attend coaches' meetings, professional development, and required district training. Assist in promoting the soccer program and encouraging student participation. Perform other duties related to the athletic program as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous coaching experience or competitive experience in soccer is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with middle school students. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends during the soccer season. Required Certifications Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain one). Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the season begins). Completion of all district-required coaching certifications and safety training. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, tactics, player development, and game management. Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop middle school student-athletes. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to build a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture. Commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, sportsmanship, and professionalism. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, officials, and administration. Working Conditions Outdoor practices and competitions in varying weather conditions. Evening practices and games during the soccer season. Occasional weekend tournaments and travel. Ability to stand, walk, run, demonstrate soccer skills, and actively supervise student-athletes for extended periods. Compensation Seasonal coaching stipend in accordance with the Naco Elementary School District Governing Board-approved stipend schedule.
