7th Grade Volleyball Coach Reports to: Athletic Director / Junior High School Principal
Location:
Blue Ridge Unified School District Position Summary The Junior High Volleyball Coach is responsible for the development and oversight of the 7th grade girls' volleyball program. The coach provides instruction, guidance, and supervision to student-athletes to promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic achievement while ensuring compliance with district, conference, and Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices that teach fundamental volleyball skills, strategies, and conditioning. Supervise student-athletes at all times during practices, games, travel, and other team activities. Promote teamwork, discipline, respect, and positive sportsmanship. Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration. Monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes in accordance with district and AIA policies. Ensure proper care, inventory, and return of all school-issued equipment and uniforms. Follow district and school policies related to student safety, conduct, and transportation. Report injuries, concerns, and incidents promptly to the Athletic Director. Serve as a positive role model for students, emphasizing character, effort, and responsibility both on and off the court. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred. Previous playing or coaching experience in volleyball preferred. Knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and teaching techniques. Ability to communicate and work effectively with junior high school students. Must hold (or be willing to obtain): Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card CPR and First Aid Certification Must adhere to all district, conference, and AIA regulations. Work Environment Practices and games typically occur after school hours, evenings, and some weekends. Moderate physical activity required, including demonstrating drills and supervising practices. Travel with team to away games required. Compensation Stipend position per district extra-duty salary schedule.
