Job Description Job Description for Athletic Coaches at Sedona Red Rock High School Athletic Coaches at Sedona Red Rock High School plays a vital role in developing student-athletes both on and off the court. This position requires not only a deep understanding of the sport but also strong leadership and communication skills. Below are the minimum requirements and expectations for this role.
Minimum Requirements Education :
A bachelor's degree in physical education, sports management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with significant coaching experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Coaching Experience :
At least three years of coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in this sport. Experience in player development, team strategy, and game management is essential.
Certifications :

Game :
A comprehensive understanding of sport rules, techniques, and strategies. The coach should stay updated on current trends and best practices in coaching and player development.

The Head Coach is responsible for building a cohesive and competitive varsity team. This includes recruiting players, developing practice plans, and leading training sessions that enhance individual and team skills.
Game Management :
The coach will oversee all aspects of game preparation, including strategy development, in-game decision-making, and post-game analysis. The coach is expected to promote sportsmanship and fair play at all times.
Player Mentorship :

Collaboration :
Work closely with other coaches and school administration to promote their program and Scorpion Athletics to ensure that it aligns with school policies and objectives.
Community Engagement :
The Head Coach is expected to engage with the local community through outreach programs, fundraisers, and by fostering relationships with parents and alumni to support the program.
Academic Monitoring :
Ensure that all student-athletes maintain academic eligibility by monitoring their progress and collaborating with academic staff to support their educational goals.
