Your role will be vital in cultivating teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development while promoting a positive and energetic atmosphere that inspires students to excel both on and off the court. Responsibilities Plan and execute engaging basketball practices tailored to freshmen and sophomore players, emphasizing fundamental skills, game strategies, and sportsmanship. Lead team drills, scrimmages, and conditioning sessions to enhance athletic performance and teamwork. Develop game plans, analyze player performance, and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Foster a positive team environment by encouraging good behavior, discipline, and respect among players. Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and upcoming events. Ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and games; operate AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) as needed. Promote sports-specific training instruction that aligns with basketball coaching best practices while integrating elements from other sports such as soccer or cheerleading when appropriate. Report directly to and Collaboration wit JV and Varsity HC's Skills Proven experience in sports coaching with a strong background in basketball; familiarity with coaching freshmen and sophomore athletes preferred. Demonstrated leadership abilities in team settings; capable of motivating young athletes to achieve their best. Excellent communication skills for effective client (student-athlete and parent) interaction and team coordination. Knowledge of health and safety procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and behavior management techniques. Experience working with children or students in physical education or childcare environments; ability to manage diverse behaviors positively. Familiarity with sports training instruction across multiple disciplines. Strong organizational skills to plan practices, track progress, and coordinate team activities efficiently. Ability to foster a safe environment that encourages physical activity while ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
