FA Barstow Community College is an open-access, comprehensive two-year institution serving a diverse student population in the Mojave region of San Bernardino County, California. The College's campus is located in the City of Barstow, California, situated in California's high desert, between Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Established in 1959, the Barstow Community College District (BCCD) encompasses a vast service area, stretching from the Nevada border on the East to Kern County on the West, and from Inyo County in the North to the San Bernardino Mountain range in the South. BCCD serves the communities of Barstow, Lenwood, Newberry Springs, Daggett, Yermo, Hinkley, Ludlow and Baker. The institution also maintains a satellite learning center at the U.S. Army National Training Center in Ft. Irwin, California, which serves military personnel and their families. ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction of the Associate Dean/Athletic Director
  • Kinesiology, the Assistant Coach for Men's Baseball will perform the following: Assist in the planning and execution of the baseball program at Barstow College.
Recruit competitive players. Plan and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance of student/athlete team members. Maintain team statistics and records. Develop and maintain a close relationship with local high school baseball coaches. Provide compliance with college rules and policies, the Commission on Athletics as well as other applicable regulatory agencies. Perform other work related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications Must have either an Associate's Degree and six years coaching experience; OR Bachelor's degree and two years experience Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. All course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
