Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated JV Tennis Coach to inspire and develop young athletes' skills and sportsmanship. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead tennis teams, promote healthy competition, and cultivate a love for the sport among students. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, sports coaching experience, and a passion for working with youth to our vibrant school community. Responsibilities Plan and execute engaging tennis practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship Coach JV tennis matches, providing strategic guidance and motivating players to perform their best Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and behavior management Assess player abilities and provide constructive feedback to support growth Collaborate with school staff on team logistics, schedules, and student safety protocols Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect both on and off the court Maintain equipment, ensure safety standards are met, including AED operation readiness Requirements Prior experience in tennis coaching or sports-specific training instruction Proven ability to work effectively with children and adolescents in a coaching setting Strong communication skills to engage students, parents, and school staff Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification; AED operation experience preferred Background in sports team leadership or coaching across various sports such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate or martial arts is advantageous Experience working with students in physical education or childcare environments Ability to manage behavior positively while fostering teamwork and confidence Enthusiasm for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among youth Post-hiring coach and safety courses required Competition Day responsibilities including: ○ Support the Assistant Coach with assigned duties ○ Supervision of teams ○ Score and state keeping Other responsibilities include not limited to: ○ Schedules camp and organizes team bonding activities ○ Registers for competitions ○ Attends Mercy Athletic Department meetings ○ Coaching within compliance of all
