Speech and Debate Coach for elementary

] Honor Academy is an after school speech and debate program that specializes in competitive speech and debate as well as academic tutoring. Honor Academy is looking to hire speech and debate coach who can teach in-person at our physical learning center in Cerritos, CA and possibly online, as well. We are looking for perspectives coaches that can teach any of the following subjects in a small group (up to 6) but not limited to:
  • Public Forum and/or Lincoln-Douglas debate
  • Beginner elementary level speech and debate
  • Middle School and High School I.
E. These position(s) would be great for ex-competitors looking to start off or develop themselves as a coach and teacher, as well as experienced coaches. Our speech and debate program is robust and all of our current speech and debate coaches have been with Honor Academy for multiple years.
Requirements:
  • Successful experience as a speech and debate competitor and/or coach
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with other coaches
  • Coordinate curriculum with manager/director
  • Report to the program director about the students' progress and attendance through our website.
  • Being able to lead the class in an encouraging manner
  • Ability to judge/coach at local in-person and online tournaments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with young learners
Job:
  • Part-time, hourly at $25-35 per hour, and additional pay (4 hours
  • 30 hours depending on the candidates' availability) with selected weekend competition commitments.
