Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as the UC Flag Football Head Coach, where your passion for sports and women's development will inspire and lead student-athletes to excel both on and off the field. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness through engaging flag football programs. As the leader of our flag football team, you will design training sessions, develop game strategies, and create a positive environment that encourages growth, confidence, and fun for all participants. Your dedication will help cultivate a vibrant sports culture that promotes health, discipline, and camaraderie among students. Responsibilities Plan and execute engaging flag football practices that develop fundamental skills and promote teamwork. Lead team strategies during games, motivating players to perform their best while emphasizing sportsmanship. Foster a safe, inclusive environment by implementing proper safety protocols and behavior management techniques. Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to players to enhance their athletic abilities and confidence. Coordinate with school staff and parents to ensure smooth communication regarding schedules, progress, and team events. Incorporate diverse coaching methods including sports coaching, teaching physical education, and martial arts principles such as Karate or Judo when appropriate. Promote healthy habits by integrating swimming, climbing activities, or other fitness elements into training routines when feasible. Skills Proven experience in sports coaching, especially flag football or related team sports like basketball or cheerleading. Background in teaching or working with students in educational or recreational settings. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster discipline and positive conduct among young athletes. Familiarity with physical activities such as swimming, climbing, martial arts (Judo, Karate), or gymnastics to diversify training programs. Experience in childcare or youth development roles that require patience, communication skills, and a nurturing approach. Ability to lead engaging drills while maintaining high energy levels and motivating participants of all skill levels. Strong organizational skills to plan practices, coordinate events, and manage team logistics effectively.
