This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead engaging classes, foster teamwork, and promote healthy lifestyles through sport-specific training instruction. As a key member of our recreational sports program, you will create positive experiences that motivate children and teens to reach their full potential while ensuring safety and proper technique. Your energy, communication skills, and passion for sports will help cultivate a vibrant community atmosphere where everyone feels empowered to succeed. Responsibilities Lead recreational gymnastics classes for children and teens, designing age-appropriate activities that promote skill development and enjoyment Provide clear instruction on proper techniques for gymnastics movements, tumbling, and basic acrobatics Ensure a safe environment by supervising participants closely and enforcing safety protocols at all times Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies to maintain an engaging class atmosphere Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about participant progress, safety concerns, or program updates Assist with setting up equipment, maintaining cleanliness of the gym area, and inspecting safety gear before each session Support other sports coaching activities such as soccer, cheerleading, climbing or basketball when needed to diversify programming Requirements Prior experience working with children in sports or recreational settings is essential Demonstrated knowledge of gymnastics techniques and sports-specific training instruction Certifications in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) are required for safety compliance Lifeguard experience or swimming background is a plus; familiarity with AED operation is highly desirable Experience in martial arts, cheerleading, climbing, or other physical education disciplines enhances your coaching versatility Strong communication skills to effectively engage with participants, parents, and team members Ability to lead with enthusiasm while maintaining a focus on safety and proper technique Previous sports team experience such as soccer coaching or basketball teaching is advantageous Join us in creating an energetic environment where young athletes thrive!
