Summary:
The Functional Strength Coach will designs and delivers evidence-based physical conditioning programs to improve movement efficiency, build resilience, and enhance real-world or mission-specific performance and provide Holistic Health and Fitness (HHF) support to military personnel.
Responsibilities:
Create progressive strength, mobility, and endurance routines tailored to daily physical demands or tactical requirements. Conduct human performance and movement assessments to identify physical limitations and track progress. Participate in squadron PT sessions and coordinate with Unit Fitness Program Managers (UFPMs) Provide evidence-based Human Performance programs. Provide portable, mission-specific HP guidance to Airmen before deployments. Support sustained readiness across diverse Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs). Support running clinics, weightlifting/form training, and other mission-specific performance sessions. Maintain secure and compliant records of assessments, training sessions, and outcomes Assist with performance testing and data collection. Coordinate referrals and follow-up care. Maintain documentation and reports. Prepare individualized monthly performance reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Masters's degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science. Certified as a Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Minimum 2 years of practicing strength coach. Must be able to be transported in government provided ground vehicles.
Additional Requirements:
U.S. citizenship required SECRET or provisional SECRET security clearance required prior to starting work Must maintain required security clearance throughout the contract Must complete required security and Antiterrorism Level I training Must maintain all required professional certifications Must pass required drug screening Strong written and verbal English communication skills required Occasional travel may be required in support of military training events, exercises, annual training, meetings, or other mission requirements.
