• JV/Varsity Assistant Coaches (3 open positions) Position Summary Nueva is seeking coaches for its Middle School girls' soccer program.

Available assignments include JV (5th/6th grade) Head Coach, Varsity (7th/8th grade) Assistant Coach, and JV/Varsity Assistant Coach. Coaches help student-athletes build skills, teamwork, confidence, sportsmanship, and an appreciation for athletic participation while preparing teams for competition. Final assignments will be based on program needs and each candidate's experience and availability. A Day in the Life A typical day begins with preparing the field, equipment, and practice plan before student-athletes arrive. Once the team gathers, you will create a positive, structured environment where players build skills, confidence, teamwork, and an appreciation for the game. You will lead or support practices, provide individual and team feedback, prepare student-athletes for competition, and collaborate with the coaching team. On game days, you will help guide strategy, reinforce sportsmanship, and ensure students are supported and supervised from arrival through dismissal. Practice Schedule Varsity (7th/8th) Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00-3:15 p.m. Varsity (7th/8th) Thursdays 3:30-5:00 p.m. Junior Varsity (5th/6th) Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3:30-5:00 p.m. Game schedules vary and may require additional weekday availability. Primary Responsibilities Coach and instruct student-athletes, individually and in groups, in soccer rules, techniques, tactics, equipment use, and safe play. Plan and lead or support organized, age-appropriate practices that promote skill development, teamwork, confidence, and engagement. Observe student-athletes during practices and competitions and adjust instruction to address individual and team development needs. Develop or support game strategy based on individual and team capabilities. Establish and maintain high standards of behavior and supervise student-athletes at all times. Follow established procedures in the event of an injury or emergency and comply with applicable school and athletic program requirements. Model inclusive practices, positive behavior, and good sportsmanship when interacting with student-athletes, families, colleagues, officials, and spectators. For head-coach assignments, provide overall team leadership and delegate responsibilities to assistant coaches as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Effective coaching and instructional skills. Knowledge of soccer rules, regulations, techniques, and strategies. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, families, colleagues, and student-athletes. Ability to uphold school expectations, supervise students responsibly, and model good sportsmanship. Ability to perform the essential physical responsibilities of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a soccer coach or assistant coach at the middle school, youth, or club level. Playing experience and/or relevant coaching licenses or certifications. Experience supporting the social-emotional and athletic development of middle school students. Compensation and Benefits The hourly rate for this position is $33.00

• 65.00 per hour for Head Coaches and $26.00
• 59.

00 per hour for Assistant Coaches. Individual compensation is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, the type and years of relevant coaching and professional experience, education, qualifications, and level of expertise.
