Beginners Edge Sports Training is looking for people who are energetic, dependable, and comfortable leading groups of children to coach fun and engaging youth sports classes in La Habra, CA. You don't need to be a professional athlete to create a positive experience for every participant! Why Work With B.E.S.T.? This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a flexible part-time position while making a positive impact on young athletes. You'll help kids build confidence, learn new skills, stay active, and — most importantly — have fun playing sports. What You'll Do Lead youth sports classes on Saturdays using B.E.S.T. lesson plans and activity guide. Teach basic sports skills through games, drills, and hands-on instruction to kids between the ages of 18 months-12. Keep children engaged, active, and involved throughout each class. Create a welcoming and encouraging environment for athletes of different ages and ability levels. Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and other coaches. Commit to arriving prepared and on time for every scheduled class. Set up, use, and put away sports equipment every week Adjust activities when necessary based on the group, facility, weather, or class size. What We're Looking For Energetic and enthusiastic about working with children. Comfortable speaking to and managing groups of young kids (ages of 18 months-12) Dependable and responsible. Friendly, patient, and positive. A strong communicator and team player. Willing to learn and follow established coaching methods. Available for consistent weekend work.
Requirements:
Previous coaching or teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Experience working with children, playing sports, coaching, childcare, education, or recreation is helpful.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and instruct sports classes, camps, and/or clinics for children ages 18 months to 12 years. Implement and follow B.E.S.T. lesson plans and coaching techniques. Maintain a fun, positive, and supportive learning environment. Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants at all times. Set up, organize, and break down equipment as needed before and after classes. Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, teammates, and supervisors. Complete required class check-ins, reporting, and attendance tracking. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Represent B.E.S.T. values and uphold a high standard of customer service. Must be able to lift and carry sports equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. Must have a valid drivers license and personal vehicle
