Adaptive Sports Coach (Summer Camps and Year Round) - Basketball, Bike Riding, Physical Fitness OMG Youth Sports Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time $35 - $55 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Paid training Opportunities for advancement Flexible schedule Qualifications RBT Certification CPR Certification Working with individuals with disabilities Sports coaching class instruction First Aid Certification Working with youth Camp Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking passionate and energetic basketball coaches to lead group sessions, private lessons, and adaptive basketball programming across both traditional and inclusive settings. Coaches should be strong mentors, skilled communicators, and flexible facilitators who can motivate players of all abilities to grow on and off the court. Key Responsibilities Lead age-appropriate basketball drills, skills training, and games for grades 2-8 Support inclusive programming for youth with special needs (training provided) Facilitate sessions in parks, gyms, schools, and community centers across LA County, San Bernardino County and Orange County. Provide mentorship, encouragement, and constructive feedback Adapt coaching style to meet the needs of each child, including nonverbal or sensory-sensitive participants in the POM program Maintain a safe, structured, and fun environment Communicate with parents and staff regarding progress and attendance Participate in coach training, orientation, and team meetings Assist with tournaments, clinics, and seasonal camp operations Qualifications Experience coaching basketball, working with youth, or both (required) Ability to lead drills and organize group activities confidently Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for mentoring Willingness to work with children with autism, ADHD, or mild to moderate disabilities CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain) Must pass a background check Bilingual (Spanish, ASL, or other) a plus Preferred but Not Required Experience with ABA, therapeutic recreation, or adapted PE RBT, paraprofessional, or special ed aide background Coaching certification or degree in Kinesiology, PE, or related field What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid training in adaptive and inclusive coaching practices Opportunity to work in multiple communities and facilities Career growth within our year-round academy and camps Flexible scheduling and supportive team environment Fulfillment through meaningful impact on children's lives
