Job Description

Company Description Flow State Performance Training is Mill Valley's high-end functional fitness and sports performance training center, helping adults and youth build strong, resilient bodies for life, sport, and long-term health. Role Description This is a part-time (potential to scale to full-time), on-site role for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach reporting to the Owner/Head Coach located in Mill Valley, CA. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for implementing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs (group and 1:1) to improve overall fitness and enhance athletic performance and injury resilience for clients. Additionally, the coach will collaborate with the Owner/Head Coach, monitor athletes' progress, and evolve training programs as necessary. Responsibilities Coach small group functional strength and conditioning classes (adult and youth) Deliver 1:1 personal training sessions (injury recovery, general fitness, sports performance) Track client progress and personalize coaching based on individual needs Participate in team meetings, ongoing education (CEU stipend provided), and program development Support facility cleanliness, equipment care, and community culture Contribute to content creation or community events if applicable Qualifications Nationally recognized personal training or strength & conditioning certification (e.g., NASM, NSCA, ACSM, ACE, CF-L1+) Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or a related field is a plus 1-3+ years coaching experience (private or group) Strong movement assessment, cueing, and scaling ability Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-first mindset
