ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars) is seeking a passionate, proactive, and professional Recess Program Site Lead for a new recess partnership in Oakland for the 2026-27 School Year. This is a leadership role for a skilled coach who can confidently run daily recess programming, lead a small team of coaches, and be the face of ANTS to our school partners. This job also has the opportunity for after school youth sports coaching hours (typically between 3-6pm). See below for details. Should you work both roles weekly, this job has the opportunity to work up to ~30 hours per week. ANTS Sports is a Bay Area-based youth sports organization focused on building confidence, wellness, and joy through multi-sport instruction for kids in grades K-5. We lead programs at schools and parks across the Bay Area, partnering with public and private institutions to bring high-energy, inclusive sports programming into school days and after-school time.   • Recess Lead As a Recess Lead Coach with ANTS, you'll serve as the on-site leader for our school recess programming, ensuring a safe, fun, and organized experience for students and coaches alike.
You will oversee daily operations, support your coaching team, and act as ANTS' primary representative at your assigned school site. In this role, you'll coordinate daily communication with your coaching team, develop and share recess plans, lead pre-session coach huddles, and maintain positive relationships with school staff. You'll ensure recess activities are safe, inclusive, and age-appropriate while supporting coaches throughout the session and addressing any behavioral, safety, or operational concerns that arise. As the on-site leader, you'll help create a positive experience for students, coaches, and school partners while upholding ANTS' standards and procedures. Recess programming takes place Monday through Friday, generally between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Coaches must be available during their assigned program days and committed to maintaining a consistent, high-quality experience for students and school partners. What You'll Do
  • After School Youth Sports Coaching As a Youth Sports Coach with ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars), you'll lead weekly after-school sports enrichment classes at one or more of our Oakland school communities.
Our Fall after school classes run from September through December 2026(must be available for the entire season). Time commitment is at least one day per week M-F with two hour-long back to back classes. There is also the potential for Saturday hours through flag football league games.

Sports include flag football, tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, pickleball, and more! Weekday classes generally occur between 3
  • 6 p.
m. on the same day each week for a 10 to 14-week season. You must be available to coach in the afternoon on your program day (at least one day/week). Classes last for 1 to 1.5 hours. Some of our programs offer back-to-back classes for different age groups.

If you participate in our third-annual flag football league, you must be available for Saturday game days. Requirements Previous experience working with youth (K-5), preferably in a coaching or education setting Proven ability to lead a team, communicate clearly, and maintain professionalism on-site Confidence in planning and adapting the youth sports curriculum Ability to build rapport with school administrators and represent ANTS with pride Excellent punctuality, organization, and interpersonal skills Must pass a state and federal background check (LiveScan) Must test negative for TB (within the past 4 years) Must have reliable transportation Must be available for the full program schedule listed above Benefits Be a leader: Take the next step in your coaching career with real leadership experience Supportive community: Work with a passionate team of coaches and staff Room to grow: Additional coaching hours and leadership opportunities available year-round Competitive pay: $30
