Pleasanton & Livermore About Bay Liberty Bay Liberty Inc. provides Independent Living Services and Supported Living Services to adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help the people we support become more independent at home and in their communities. Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructor to work one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities in the Pleasanton and Livermore area. This is a flexible part-time position supporting multiple clients. When possible, we will work to consolidate client hours into 1-2 days per week . The ILS Instructor works directly with clients on their individual goals, helping them learn and practice the skills needed to live as independently as possible. Responsibilities Teach and support independent living skills based on each client's individual goals Assist with budgeting, shopping, meal planning, household organization, appointments, and community activities Help clients develop problem-solving, communication, and self-advocacy skills Provide transportation for clients as needed Encourage clients to complete tasks as independently as possible rather than doing tasks for them Complete required electronic documentation after services Communicate with the supervisor regarding client progress, concerns, and scheduling Qualifications Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities required ILS, SLS, DSP, caregiving, behavioral services, or similar experience preferred Dependable, patient, organized, and comfortable working independently Strong communication skills Valid driver's license, insured/reliable vehicle, and ability to transport clients Ability to meet required background clearance and employment requirements CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain Schedule Approximately 15-16 hours per week . Client schedules have some flexibility, and our goal is to group hours together when possible to create an efficient 1-2 day weekly schedule. Additional hours may become available in the future.
