Job Description

Overview The Trump Golf Academy offers customized programs for all golfers from beginners to PGA Tour players. Jordan King Thomas, PGA, and his elite staff of instructors achieve success by focusing on the fundamentals of the game, providing club‐fitting analysis, keeping a minimal student/teacher ratio to allow for personalized instruction, and using clear communication and state‐of‐the‐art swing analysis video technology. Located at Trump National Los Angeles Golf Club, one of Golf Digest's Top 100 Public Courses in America, the Trump Golf Academy offers its students a world-class golf instruction facility in a stunning setting perched upon the jagged cliffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Its nationally-recognized instructors offer private lessons, multi-day golf schools, small group clinics, on-course playing sessions, video analysis and juniors programming. Overview The golf instructor and coach role is a contract position for 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 100 hours of instruction per month and an opportunity to set your own schedule. You'll join an elite instruction team and lead private coaching with beginner and intermediate levels, and assist with weekly junior academies and group clinics. You'll interact regularly with parents, juniors, clients and golf facility staff. You will be responsible for proactively building your book of business through networking, marketing and sales activities. Instructors receive 50% of lessons given, and the average lesson rate is $185 per hour. They also receive 50% of clinics, camps and junior academies that they lead. Experience Required Basic Qualifications 2 years of full-time golf coaching/teaching experience 2 years of video swing analysis experience 2 years of launch monitor experience 3 years in the golf industry Proven sales track record Demonstrated strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships and network High school graduate Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, to include bending/stooping; able to lift and move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. with minimal assistance Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in various elements of weather Proficient in Excel Preferred Qualifications PGA Class A certified or enrolled in a PGM program Trackman certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified Club fitting experience and/or certified Essential Responsibilities In this role, your essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing high-quality golf instruction as a lead coach at beginner and intermediate levels, through private lessons, on-course playing sessions and beginners' small group clinics; opportunity to grow into instruction at the advanced level Running adult and junior golf clinics at a 6:1 student to instructor ratio, including leading marketing and registration Assisting the Director of Instruction with multi-day golf schools and small group clinics Effectively using the latest golf and teaching technology including Trackman launch monitors, OnForm, tablets and training aids to provide video and swing analysis Building and maintaining strong relationships with parents, juniors, clients and golf facility staff to expand the Academy and its programs Proactively building client base through networking, marketing and lesson package sales Completing necessary instructional area set up and breakdown checklist items each day, and ensuring the lesson tee is client-ready at all times Positively and professionally representing the Trump Golf Academy brand at all times and in all interactions with team members, partners and clients Maintaining coaching and golfing expertise and staying current on best practices, including through passing the Academy certification process and playing ability test, and taking continuing education Effectively managing your lesson schedule and submitting payroll and reports on-time
