The coach will teach fundamental soccer skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and character while creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere for student-athletes. The Soccer Coach will support the mission and values of the school by modeling Christian leadership both on and off the court.
Hours:
This is a zero hour/seasonal position with scheduled hours with an average of 10 scheduled hours per week during volleyball season (with potential additional hours during tournament weeks) and 0 hours per week during the remaining weeks of the year. Job Requirements Plan and lead age-appropriate soccer practices for K-8 students. Teach fundamental soccer skills, game strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities. Promote a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for all players. Model Christ-like behavior, integrity, and respect in interactions with students, families, officials, and staff. Organize game lineups, practice schedules, and basic team communication. Ensure proper use and care of athletic equipment and facilities. Communicate effectively with parents, school administration, and athletic staff. Encourage student growth spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically. Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and league regulations. Attend scheduled games, practices, coaches meetings, and school athletic events as required. Ability to work collaboratively with school administration, staff, parents, and volunteers. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and encourage elementary and middle school students. Maintain professionalism and appropriate conduct at all times. Ability to supervise students in outdoor athletic environments. Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and Christian culture of the school. Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends for games or tournaments. Minimum Qualifications Previous experience playing soccer and/or coaching youth sports. High school diploma or equivalent. Personal commitment to Christian values and faith-based mentorship. Ability to lead and supervise children in a safe and positive manner. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to fulfill the physical and work requirements of the job. This position does not qualify for sponsorship of work authorization or an employment visa, so candidates must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. to be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications Prior coaching experience with elementary or middle school students. Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, drills, and player development. Experience working in a Christian school or ministry environment. Coaching certifications or athletic training experience. Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate coaching methods.
