November 2, 2026 through February 12, 2027 Adventure Christian School Athletics exists to use sports as a platform to develop student-athletes who pursue excellence, demonstrate Christ-like character, and impact their communities for God's glory. We are seeking a Christ-centered, energetic, and knowledgeable Varsity Girls Basketball Assistant Coach to help develop student-athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the vision of the Head Coach, fostering a positive team culture, and helping young women grow in their faith, character, leadership, and basketball skills. Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices. Provide instruction in individual skill development, team concepts, and game strategy. Support game-day operations, including scouting, player development, and bench management. Help cultivate a positive, Christ-centered team culture. Serve as a positive role model in character, sportsmanship, and leadership. Build meaningful relationships with student-athletes while encouraging their academic, athletic, and spiritual growth. Assist with communication between coaches, players, and families as directed by the Head Coach. Attend all practices, games, team meetings, and required athletic department functions. Adhere to all CIF, league, school, and athletic department policies and procedures. Support and encourage multi-sport participation among student-athletes. Requirements Spiritual & Character Expectations Model Christ-like character in all interactions Support the mission and values of Adventure Christian School Encourage spiritual growth and accountability among student-athletes Be willing to participate in team devotions and program culture-building activities Qualifications A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and values of Adventure Christian School. Previous basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Ability to effectively teach basketball fundamentals and team concepts. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff. Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to student-athlete development. Must complete all school hiring requirements, including background checks and required certifications.
Time Commitment:
Practices and games throughout the basketball season from November 2 through February 12. Additional meetings, tournaments, and postseason activities as required. Physical Requirements Position requires moderate physical exertion associated with the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or climb. Position requires physical capability for sustained physical work, requires strength and endurance associated with moderate physical effort. Position requires moderate physical effort while performing continuous moderate lifting. Lifting 50 lbs. maximum or carrying an object up to 25 lbs.
