You will be responsible for managing team practices, executing player development plans, and leading squads through competitive local and regional tournament play. Primary player age group are 10 and 11 year olds.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice Execution:
Lead and execute high-repetition, structured practices twice a week, focusing on fundamental mechanics, situational awareness, and physical conditioning.
Game Management:
Manage game-day operations, including lineup strategy, in-game adjustments, and post-game player evaluations during weekend tournaments.
Player Mentorship:
Foster a competitive, disciplined, and supportive environment that prioritizes hustle, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Communication:
Act as a professional representative of the San Dimas Lightning, maintaining clear and timely communication with organizational leadership and team families.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Baseball Background:
Significant competitive baseball experience is required. Previous playing experience (College, Minor League, or high-level Varsity High School) or established travel/scholastic coaching experience is highly preferred.
Deep Game Knowledge:
Strong understanding of modern hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding mechanics, as well as youth baseball tournament rules.
Availability:
Must have reliable availability for weekday evening practices (typically Monday's and Wednesday's 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM) and open flexibility for weekend tournament schedules.

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Youth Travel Baseball Coach to inspire young athletes and foster a love for the game. In this role, you will develop players' skills, and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Your enthusiasm and coaching expertise will help create a positive, motivating environment for youth athletes to excel both on and off the field. Responsibilities Plan and conduct engaging baseball practices tailored to age group and skill levels Lead team games during travel tournaments, ensuring fair play and sportsmanship Teach fundamental baseball skills such as hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and base running Promote teamwork, discipline, and positive attitude among players Monitor player development and provide constructive feedback to improve performance Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper use of equipment during all activities Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and league officials regarding team schedules and player progress Requirements Prior experience in sports coaching, particularly baseball or youth sports programs Strong background in teaching physical education or coaching sports such as baseball, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, or martial arts Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster a respectful team environment Experience working with children or students in childcare or educational settings Ability to demonstrate leadership in high-energy environments while maintaining a positive attitude Excellent communication skills to motivate players and collaborate with parents and staff Join us in shaping the next generation of athletes!
