Job Description
Pacifica Christian High School located at 1730 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica is looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coach. The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes across all varsity and junior-varsity sports. The coach works collaboratively with head coaches, athletic director, and school administration to develop physically prepared, injury-resilient athletes while fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, teamwork, and long-term athletic development. S&C coach is responsible furthering the mission of the Seawolves and Pacifica and should be willing to wholeheartedly support the athletic department's philosophy. Preferred Characteristics Positive role model for student-athletes Strong knowledge of sports performance principles Ability to build relationships with coaches and students High energy, professionalism, and attention to detail Program Design & Development Design sport-specific periodized training programs Develop off-season, in-season & pre-season plans Adapt programs for individual athlete needs Track athlete performance data and progress Coaching & Instruction Teach proper lifting mechanics and technique Lead individual and group training sessions Incorporate and instruct speed, agility, mobility, flexibility, recovery, plyometric drills, and injury-prevention Monitor effort, form, and safety during sessions Monitor overtraining and fatigue indicators Monitor athlete progress and adjust programs as needed Athlete Wellness Coordinate with athletic trainers and coaches on injuries Educate athletes on nutrition and recovery Implement return-to-play conditioning protocols Motivate and mentor student-athletes in goal setting, discipline, leadership, and teamwork. Foster positive sportsmanship and character development Support athletes of varying skill and experience levels Facility & Admin Maintain weight room safety and cleanliness Manage equipment inventory and maintenance Assist with purchasing of equipment Maintain attendance records, workout logs, and performance data. Help enforce athletic department policies and procedures Collaboration Work closely with coaches to align training with sport-specific goals Communicate regularly with athletic trainers, coaches, administrators, and parents when appropriate Assist with scheduling facility use and coordinating team training sessions Coordinate scheduling across multiple sports Think of the role as part coach, part architect, part air-traffic controller for teenage energy!
