Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego is looking for passionate, energetic, and student-centered Youth Golf Coaches for our Fall sports season. If you love mentoring young athletes, teaching teamwork, and building fundamental skills, we want you on our team!! Work Location in person (one of the following):
Carmel Valley Middle School:
3800 Mykonos Lane, San Diego, CA 92130
Diegueno Middle School:
2150 Village Park Way, Encinitas, CA 92024
Earl Warren Middle School:
155 Stevens Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075
Oak Crest Middle School:
675 Balour Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024
Pacific Trails Middle School:
5975 Village Center Loop, San Diego, CA 92130
  • Practices and games held on respective school campuses
  • except for
Golf Employment Period & Schedule Season Start:
Monday August 24th
Season End:
Thursday October 22nd (regular season ends on October 15th, postseason goes through October 22nd)
Practice Schedule:
Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-4pm on the school's campus, except for Golf.
Game Schedule:
Games are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at either 4pm or 5pm. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead practices: Plan and execute engaging, age-appropriate skill-building sessions.
  • Manage games: Direct strategy, foster sportsmanship, and ensure equal play opportunities.
  • Prioritize safety: Maintain a safe environment during all practices, games, and travel.
  • Communicate effectively: Keep parents, athletes, and athletic directors updated on schedules.
  • Mentor athletes: Teach core values like discipline, respect, teamwork, and resilience
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth or students ( required ) Ideal candidate is at least 18 years old Must successfully pass a background check (required by Boys & Girls Clubs) Reliable transportation to and from practices and games Strong communication and leadership skills Positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with middle-school-aged students Knowledge of basic specific sport fundamentals Club Culture At Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego, we believe in building character, confidence, and community through sport and spirit . Minimum Qualifications:
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience
  • The understanding and knowledge of your assigned sport is required. Previous experience in coaching preferred, but not required. In order to run a smooth season, and be the right kind of coach for the players, these attributes are critical to the success of this position: Calm and patient demeanor with others, especially with youth. Punctuality
  • being on time.
Be organized and dependable. Be enthusiastic.
Additional expectations:
Must have or be available to obtain CPR and First Aid certification (will train). Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background clearance. Complete the mandatory BGCA Online Training. It's fully online, flexible, and you'll be paid for your time. This training equips you with essential skills to lead youth athletes effectively, safely and confidently. Get Paid to Grow!

Pay:

(a) Carmel Valley Middle School (Carmel Valley), (b) Diegueno Middle School (Encinitas), (c) Earl Warren Middle School (Solana Beach), (d) Oak Crest Middle School (Encinitas), or (e) Pacific Trails Middle School (Carmel Valley)? Do you presently live in the San Diego area? ONLY applicants who presently live in the San Diego region will be considered qualified applicants. Will you have reliable transportation to/from your assigned school location? Please provide THREE professional references, including NAMES and EMAILS, not including your family. Can you reliably work the hours for this role every week starting the week of Mon, Aug 24th through October 22nd?
