Job Description

Head Baseball Coach (Adjunct Faculty- Physical Education)

Anticipated Start Date:
July 1, 2026 REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Coordinate an intercollegiate Baseball program. The general responsibilities are to organize, direct and administer all aspects of the Baseball program, including the ongoing recruitment of student athletes. Must have the ability to plan and execute practice, coach, and have oversight of all games, schedule athletic contests, maintain a sport budget and initiate and participate in fundraising activities. Purchase and maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies. Record and compile player statistics and submit required reports. Complete reports, schedules, and grades withing established guidelines. Instruct related courses in baseball skills, conditioning, and athletic development. Participate in the evaluation of materials and the development of outlines for courses taught. Participate in division meetings, athletic department meetings, and conference coaches meetings. Support and participate in departmental and campus activities as needed. Work collaboratively with the athletic faculty, staff and administration. Participate in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) compliance trainings. Enforce District and CCCAA rules and student requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; OR Any Bachelor's and Two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment; OR An Equivalency Determination may be submitted along with all application materials to be considered for this position if you do not meet the stated minimum qualifications. The Equivalency Determination document may be found here: Request for Equivalency; AND Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience performing at a collegiate level Experience coaching at the high school level or above. Ability to communicate effectively, exercise initiative, be dependable, poise, and use good judgement.
SALARY A
head coaching stipend is available for in-season pay, with a range of $13,405.60- $15,752.30 per semester. In addition, head coaches receive adjunct pay for courses assigned, with a range of $78.86 to $92.66 per hour based on applicable adjunct rate. Placement for stipend and adjunct pay is based on experience. In addition, Coaches are also eligible for a $3,795.20 for off-season duties, meetings and recruiting. This is a part-time, temporary position that does not offer health benefits.
