A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Overview Join our dynamic team as a Youth Sports Instructor and Referee. We are looking for someone who can work our after school sport programs in Temecula for the school year. As part of this position, instructors will also serve as referees for our K-8 Flag Football League on Saturdays during the Fall season (October-December). Referees who continue with Overtime Athletics may also be scheduled to officiate games during our Spring and Summer seasons. In this role, you will lead engaging sports activities, teach fundamental techniques, and ensure a safe, fun environment for children of all skill levels. Your enthusiasm for coaching and experience working with youth will help foster confidence and a love for physical activity in every participant. An OTA Instructor Must:
Have experience working with children. Be comfortable working in an outdoor athletic environment at Temecula schools. Have knowledge of a variety of youth sports. Be available to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and/or Wednesday from 12:50 PM to 3:00 PM. Have reliable transportation. Be punctual and dependable. Maintain a professional attitude. Be patient and encouraging with children. Lead high-energy, engaging, and fun sports activities. Instructor Responsibilities Part-time position (weekdays). Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time and remain until all children have been safely dismissed. Set up and break down equipment before and after each class. Supervise children throughout all activities. Teach sports skills, drills, and games. Create a safe, fun, and positive experience for every participant. Follow all OTA policies and procedures. Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
Flag Football Referee Must:
Have knowledge of flag football rules and game play, we will provide our rules. Be comfortable working in an outdoor athletic environment. Be available to work Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Have reliable transportation. Be punctual and dependable. Be confident making fair and consistent calls. Demonstrate excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. Promote sportsmanship and a positive experience for players, coaches, and families. Job Responsibilities Officiate youth flag football games. Enforce league rules fairly and consistently. Ensure player safety throughout all games. Keep games running on schedule. Communicate clearly and professionally with coaches, players, and parents. Manage game flow, scoring, and sportsmanship. Assist with field setup and breakdown as needed. Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time and remain until all responsibilities have been completed. Follow all policies and procedures. Job Logistics Part-time, seasonal position. Games are held Saturdays in Temecula. Referees work with league staff to provide a fun and organized game-day experience. Qualifications Prior experience in coaching or instructing sports such as soccer, basketball, football or similar activities is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and manage group behavior positively. Knowledge of sports. Certification in first aid, CPR is required Strong communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members clearly and confidently.
