Position with a Purpose At Foss Swim School (FOSS) , Swim Teachers do more than teach swimming - they help students build confidence and lifelong water safety skills. With paid training and ongoing support , we'll help you build the skills to succeed in the water. Must be 18+ years old Starting at $19.50/hour , with opportunities for increased pay through additional training, weekend shifts (+$3/hour), and quarterly bonuses Part-time, year-round: minimum 10-12 hours per week, typically 3 shifts Weekday evenings (starting around 3:30pm) and weekend availability We're looking for team members who want more than just a short-term job. Compensation Base Pay:

starts at $19.50/hour Additional training earns an increase to base amount Weekend shifts: +$3.00/hour Substitute shifts: +$1.00/hour Quarterly performance bonus potential A Role Built on Relationships Our Swim Teachers do more than lead lessons. They build trust with students, encourage progress, and create consistency that families count on. We value team members who want to stay, develop their skills, and become a familiar, encouraging presence for swimmers over time. At FOSS, long-term commitment matters because relationships are at the heart of how students grow. Schedule Part-time, year-round schedule with a minimum of 10-12 hours per week. Typically, 3 shifts per week , each shift is 3-5-hours Weekday evening shifts starting around 3:30 p.m. Weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) Substitute shifts (+ $1.00/hour) What Success Looks Like Teach swim lessons for 1-4 students using the FOSS Swim Path curriculum. Create a safe, engaging learning environment where students build confidence and lifelong water safety skills. Build positive relationships with students, families, and teammates through clear communication and collaboration. Adapt lessons to individual student needs while maintaining a safe learning environment. Bring a positive, reliable, and professional attitude to every lesson. Enjoy working with children and helping others succeed. Be 18+ years old, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfortable working in a warm indoor pool. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Work in and around a warm, humid indoor swimming pool environment with water temperatures up to 91 degrees. Participate in water-based training and instruction, including putting your face in the water, floating, going underwater, and demonstrating skills within the FOSS Swim Path® curriculum. Demonstrate basic swim strokes, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Safely move throughout the pool and remain active in water up to 4 feet deep while teaching, supervising students, and responding to safety situations. Effectively monitor students, communicate with students, families, and teammates, and respond appropriately in a busy aquatic environment. Read and comprehend written and digital training materials and use a computer to complete online training courses, videos, reading assignments, and assessments. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and other movements required to teach and assist students. Work safely around pool chemicals, industrial equipment, and other supplies commonly found in an aquatic facility.
