Position Summary The Head Coach Ultimate Frisbee is responsible for recruiting and retaining players, planning and conducting practices, coaching during games, and managing other administrative responsibilities associated with the team. This part-time position runs from September 1st to May 15th each academic year. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Assist in the development and execution of club activities and overall team management. Focus on skill development, offering individual and group instruction tailored to improve performance. Aid in identifying and recruiting talented players, attending competitions, and evaluating potential recruits. Provide guidance and support to athletes while fostering a positive and motivating environment. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, support injury prevention and management efforts, and promote overall athlete well-being. Facilitate clean and effective communication between players, coaches, and support staff. Represent the team in community events, fostering good public relations, and building support for the program. Consistently demonstrate positive sportsmanship and conduct that reflects the University's mission and values. Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes Bachelor's Degree preferred Minimum 3 years of experience coaching/competing. Must be willing and available to work nights and weekends. Possesses experience working with diverse staff, including college-age students. CPR/First Aid Certification Unusual Working Conditions Weekdays and weekends are required Pre-Employment Requirements All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
Compensation & Benefits :
The salary range for this position is $2,500 - $3,000 Non-benefit eligible employees are unable to participate in the University's employee health and welfare benefit programs; however, part-time, non-benefit eligible employees are eligible to participate in Sacred Heart University's 403(b) retirement plan, but they are not eligible to receive the employer matching contributions, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of the plan. Temporary, per-diem, and seasonal staff are not eligible to participate in the 403(b) retirement plan. This job posting provides an overview of the role's general nature and expected tasks.
