Head Coach (Travel & Recreation Soccer Programs) Hartford Lions Soccer Academy Hartford, CT Job Details Seasonal | Contract $18 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Interpersonal skills Soccer coaching Team development Organizational skills Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary The Head Coach is responsible for planning and leading engaging training sessions, coaching games, fostering player development, and representing HLSA with professionalism and integrity. Coaches are expected to create an inclusive environment where every player is challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Travel Team Schedule
Practices:
Tuesdays & ThursdaysGames:
Primarily Sundays (occasional Saturday games or tournaments) Recreation Program SchedulePractices:
WednesdaysGames/Training:
Saturdays Responsibilities- Plan and conduct age-appropriate, organized training sessions.
- Coach players during league games, tournaments, and club events.
- Focus on technical, tactical, physical, and character development.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect.
- Communicate effectively with parents, players, and HLSA leadership.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment during all activities.
- Arrive prepared and on time for all practices and games.
- Maintain attendance records and communicate player concerns as needed.
- Support HLSA events and initiatives throughout the season.
- Uphold all HLSA policies and represent the organization professionally. Qualifications
- Previous soccer coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- Passion for mentoring and developing youth.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with children of varying ages and skill levels.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain). Preferred Certifications
- US Soccer Grassroots License or higher
- United Soccer Coaches Diploma
- Equivalent coaching certifications are welcome What We're Looking For
