Southern Connecticut State University Athletics and Recreation invite applications for the Head Coach of our Men's and Women's Swimmingand Diving Program. The Head Swimming and Diving Coach will provide strategic leadership for a competitive aquatics program within auniversity environment that promotes student engagement, athletic achievement, academic success, overall well-being, and persistence tograduation. SCSU Athleticsand Recreation The SCSU Department of Athletics and Recreation is a NCAA Division II program, and a member of the Northeast-10Conference. Consisting of 19 athletics teams, SCSU's outstanding program continually ranks among the top NCAA Division II programs in thenation and boasts a long record of dominance in the Northeast for both team and individual championships. Southern Swimming and Diving Southern Connecticut State University's Swimming and Diving program is a longstandingtradition of excellence in the pool and classroom. The program has produced numerous standout student-athletes, conference champions, andNCAA qualifiers, while maintaining a strong commitment to academic achievement and personal development. With a culture grounded indiscipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement, the program is poised for continued growth. The next Head Coach will have the opportunityto build upon this foundation and elevate the program's competitive success and visibility. The Position The HeadCoach of Swimming and Diving has an exciting opportunity to lead a program with a strong history and significant potential. Reporting to theDirector of Athletics and Recreation, the Head Coach provides vision and leadership for all aspects of the SCSU Swimming and Diving program,with a primary focus on developing a high-quality student-athlete experience. Consistent with the values of NCAA Division II, the head coachprovides a competitive athletic experience while supporting the academic success and overall, well-being of student-athletes. Responsibilities also include recruiting, training, fiscal oversight, administrative duties, alumni engagement, fundraising, andcommunity engagement activities. Working collaboratively with the Athletics and Recreation team, campus colleagues, alumni and otherstakeholders, the head coach will maximize visibility for the athletics program to develop university spirit and pride. Thisposition is a full-time, 10-month contractual position. Position Requirements Master's degree preferred and eight (8)years of appropriate professional level experience are required. The head coach must demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to followingthe letter and spirit of
NCAA, NE10
Conference and University rules and regulations. The head coach must exhibit an ability to effectivelywork with a diverse population of student-athletes and coaches in a cultural climate that celebrates diversity. The successful candidatewill be required to complete the NCAA certification exam. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternateexperience.
