Assistant Football Coach Easton, Redding, Region 9 Redding, CT Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Community relationship building Team motivation (leadership skill) Full Job Description Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join the coaching staff at Joel Barlow High School as a volunteer Assistant Football Coach. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about mentoring young athletes and helping them develop their skills both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach and other coaching staff to create a positive and competitive environment for our student-athletes. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and executing practice sessions, drills, and game strategies. Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes in fundamental football skills and techniques. Help monitor the physical and mental well-being of players, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Support the head coach in game-day preparations, including coordinating player positions and strategies. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and player development. Assist in the organization of team events, fundraising activities, and community outreach initiatives. Attend all scheduled practices, games, and coaching meetings. Uphold the values and standards of Joel Barlow High School and the athletic department. Requirements A strong passion for football and a commitment to the development of young athletes. Previous playing or coaching experience in football is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, coaching staff, and student-athletes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A positive attitude and the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Must pass a background check and comply with any school district requirements for volunteers. Availability to attend practices, games, and meetings as needed during the football season.
