Instructor/Basketball Coach Location:

Overview:
CIRTE dba The Chart Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dynamic Summer Basketball Coach to lead a 6-week youth development program for participants ages 14-17. This role focuses on basketball skill development, teamwork, and tournament preparation, while creating a safe, structured, and mission-aligned environment where athletes can grow both on and off the court. The coach will work with players of varying skill levels to strengthen fundamentals, foster a competitive mindset, and build cohesive teams prepared to compete in an end-of-program basketball tournament.
Program Structure:
The basketball component takes place for 2 hours per day. In addition, the coach will facilitate a 2-hour daily work readiness component, helping participants develop essential life and career skills. Key Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging basketball practices focused on fundamentals, conditioning, and team play. Develop strategies and prepare teams for a culminating tournament. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and confidence among participants. Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all youth. Facilitate daily work readiness sessions covering topics such as communication, teamwork, goal setting, and career readiness. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for youth participants. Monitor attendance, participation, and progress throughout the program. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience coaching basketball, playing at the high school, collegiate, or competitive level, or working with youth athletic programs. Experience working with teenagers (ages 14-17) in a coaching, mentoring, education, or youth development setting. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, drills, conditioning techniques, and game strategy. Strong communication, leadership, and classroom/group facilitation skills. Ability to facilitate work readiness or life skills sessions, including topics such as teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and career preparation. Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants. Ability to pass any required background checks for working with youth. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading basketball camps, clinics, or youth leagues. Experience facilitating career readiness, workforce development, or life skills programming. Background in education, sports management, kinesiology, youth development, or related field. Experience preparing teams for organized tournaments or competitive play.
