The expectation of the coaching staff is to teach the skills and techniques of the sport. Additionally, the Head Coach will provide the necessary guidance, advice and training necessary to teach and build good sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to the individual athletes and the team as a whole. This position provides an opportunity to serve as a strong, positive role model for our young athletes.Qualifications :
Strong demonstrated knowledge of sound principles and rules governing the sport Must demonstrate commitment to students, community and instructional leadership, while promoting positive character and school spirit Strong communication and problem solving skills Previous coaching experience in the sport preferred Must be CPR certifiedResponsibilities :
Conducts try-outs and informs team candidates about eligibility requirements Recruit and retain eligible student athletes from within the school building Determines team membership Ensures all athletes meet eligibility requirements before and during season Plans/supervises practices and games Adheres to DIAA rules/regulations and District's policies/procedures Ensures discipline and sportsmanship behavior at all times Helps oversee safety conditions of facility and report issues to Athletic Director Motivates athletes/coaching staff and encourages school spirit Supervises locker rooms before and after practices and games Directs/supervises the activities of the assistant coach(es) Coordinates ordering, maintaining and storing athletic equipment Reviews with coaching staff the assessment of how season unfolded Files report at end of season _______________________________ Employment is Conditional Upon Receipt of an An Acceptable Criminal Background Report and a Child Abuse Registry Check Showing You Are Not on the Registry at any Level The Christina School District is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other categories protected by federal, state, or local law.
