Job Summary Join our vibrant recreation team as a Recreational Gymnastics Coach, where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire participants of all ages to develop their gymnastics skills, build confidence, and enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle. In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging classes, foster a positive environment, and promote safety while encouraging personal growth through movement and sport. Your passion for physical activity and coaching will help create memorable experiences that motivate our community to stay active and achieve their goals. Duties Lead recreational gymnastics classes for children and teens, creating fun and inclusive sessions that cater to various skill levels. Design age-appropriate lesson plans that emphasize fundamental gymnastics techniques, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing proper use of equipment, supervising activities closely, and adhering to safety protocols. Foster a positive environment that promotes good behavior, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence among students. Incorporate additional activities such as cheerleading, climbing exercises, or martial arts like karate or judo to diversify class offerings. Maintain equipment and facility cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe training environment. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding progress, upcoming events, or safety concerns. Experience Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable. Demonstrated background working with children in a childcare or educational setting. Knowledge of gymnastics fundamentals along with experience in related activities such as swimming, cheerleading, climbing, or martial arts (karate, judo) is preferred. Lifeguard experience is a plus, especially if working in facilities that include swimming components. Strong behavior management skills to motivate students and maintain discipline in a lively environment. Familiarity with health club or gym operations can be beneficial for understanding facility standards and safety procedures. Passion for encouraging physical activity through engaging instruction and positive reinforcement. Join us in shaping confident movers while having fun!
